During the workshop Ben, Alastair and Milan will:

• Map out the strategic issues facing law firms based on recent Meridian West and Brook research and interviews with other market experts;
• Walk you through a scenario of a typical law firm to show how these issues play out in practice;
• Facilitate discussion and exercises designed to help you think about the role of marketing and business development in addressing these challenges; and
• Help you to understand opportunities for leading cross-function projects with HR, finance and operations colleagues.

Cancellations received in writing more than 7 days before the seminar will be refunded, less £10 administration fee. We regret that no refunds are allowed for cancellations or transfers within 7 days or for non-attendance. PSMG reserves the right to refuse admission if payment is not received prior to the event.

Ben Kent  is the founding Director of Meridian West, and has extensive experience in developing client strategies for many professional firms. His clients include the Financial Times, BDO, PwC, KPMG, Grant Thornton, Coutts & Co., Deutsche Bank, GVA, Allen & Overy, DLA Piper and Addleshaw Goddard. He started his career as a corporate lawyer at Freshfields. He then moved into consultancy, working at CSS, City Research Group and NFO. Ben has a BA Hons in History from University of Cambridge

Ben has published widely and presented seminars on various aspects of the client-centric firm; most recently articles on commerciality, client feedback, trends in the legal sector, account management and project management. Ben is contributing author to Professional Services Marketing Handbook – How to Build Relationships, Grow Your Firm and Become a Client Champion.

Alastair Beddow  is a Director at Meridian West, and is a respected author and commentator on the strategic and commercial issues impacting professional service firms today. He regularly provides strategic advice, support and training to leading professional firms to help them strengthen their client relationships, understand their strategic growth opportunities, and implement changes to their business development processes and systems. His recent clients include PwC, ACCA, Allen & Overy, Farrer & Co, Canada Life, and Grant Thornton. Alongside his work at Meridian West, Alastair is Deputy Chair of Rhythmix, one of the UK’s leading music charities, and a coach for Teach First, the education development charity. His latest book is Professional Services Leadership Handbook, published this year by Kogan Page.

Milan Dalal heads up a team of nine analysts within Brook Intelligence and is an associate at Meridian West. His 20+ years of experience within professional services has helped shape the services he offers to focus exactly on the needs of partners and BD teams. Previously Milan headed up a professional qualification at ACCA, led the national marketing & communications function at Grant Thornton and headed up the marketing and business development team at Olswang.
