ADRIAN FURNER

Adrian has over 25 years of experience in the design, implementation, and delivery of complex commercial transactions and novel business models, most recently through a number of senior commercial and operational roles within BAE Systems. He advises professional firms on their innovation capabilities, how to develop an innovation infrastructure in their firm and how to develop and commercialise new service offerings.

As a consultant he brings deep practitioner experience alongside a passion for, and expertise, in innovation. He has worked in a variety of sectors including defence and security, aviation, finance, and technology management, and is able to apply lessons and best practices from multiple industries when advising professional firms.

His practice also involves advising professionals on how to enhance their commercial competencies. Having been responsible for successfully developing deals across a wide variety of complex, high value opportunities within BAE Systems and elsewhere Adrian has extensive experience of commissioning and using a wide range of professional advisors. He brings an authentic client perspective to the topic of commerciality, which is articulated in the “7 habits of Commerciality” framework he has developed with Ben Kent.

Adrian is a former board member and honorary fellow of the International Association for Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM) and a regular contributor and speaker on topics such as commercial agility, collaboration and commercial innovation. With Ben Kent, Alastair Beddow and Nigel Clark he is a co-author of the Professional Services Leadership Handbook.
