David is a recent addition to Meridian West having joined the firm after a full-time career spent in a range of strategy, marketing and planning positions. He is widely recognised for his experience and expertise in global client relationship management strategies and associated business-wide management processes, including global account management.

David’s career culminated in 25 years’ service at Citigroup’s Global Corporate Bank, and also incorporated a 4 year period at McKinsey, the management consultancy.

David’s last position at Citi was Global Head of Strategic Marketing – a role he held for over 15 years. In this position, he had responsibility for the design and implementation of the strategic marketing and client relationship management processes through which Citi served its clients globally. As a member of the Operating committee of the firm he also worked with his line management colleagues to identify and address the most significant opportunities and challenges facing the business around the world. He originally joined Citi in 1991 as Head of Marketing and Planning for their UK subsidiary.

David started his career in FMCG with Colgate-Palmolive in the UK, and went on to become Marketing Director of Colgate’s Japanese subsidiary and its joint venture business with Kao Soap Co Ltd. He then joined McKinsey as a Management Consultant, where Citi was one of his clients.

Before joining Citi, David worked as Corporate Business Development Director for Forte plc, reporting to CEO Rocco Forte. His time at Forte also included line management responsibilities as Assistant Managing Director of the Forte Airport Services Division, a role that included MD responsibility for the Division’s largest company – it’s international Flight Catering business.

David has a 1st Class Honours degree in Business Studies from the University of Hertfordshire. He is a member of the Research Committee of the Ashridge Strategic Management Centre.
